What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success:
A strong Region Advisor is a good listener. Further, a good Region Advisor knows how to search policy and protocol for solutions to District problems. I also understand the Toastmasters education program, Pathways and have helped move some non-adopters to adopting. Finally, it's important for a Region Advisor to know that he or she is an advisor, not the one making the final decisions and doing the work.
What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?
The key strengths I bring to the District leaders are hindsight and experience. I have served in all the roles in which they currently serve so I understand day-to-day things that need to be done. I am an outstanding listener and can listen well to what is said as well as what is not said. I am able to work well with people who have leadership styles that are different from mine. That ability allows me to help guide them to success.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
District leaders often need guidance on situations that have them stumped. I enjoyed collaborating with them while supporting and guiding them to look inward to find their own solutions. I also bring the ability to guide them to think and work strategically for program quality and district growth. I have a passion for leadership and for Toastmasters. Serving as a Region Advisor allows me to work within two areas that are passions for me while serving others.
