What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
The Region Advisor helps the District leadership achieve the mission by regularly scheduled meetings for knowledge transfer, one on one coaching, being a cheerleader, and being a liaison between International leaders and Districts. This is the same role I fill at my corporate job leading a team, as well as what I did as a District leader for the Division and Area Directors, and continue to do for the Toastmaster leadership team as a Past District Director.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
As a District leader, I coached all my individual teams/committee to success - getting better as my time in Toastmasters leadership went on. I'm a titled leader in my professional job and coach my team, as a whole and as individuals, on a continuous basis.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
While serving my District I discovered that 'my why' is witnessing the spark of joy when an individual has an ah-ha moment or accomplishes something they didn't know they could. I now have a mission to facilitate those moments for as many people as possible. The Region Advisor position will allow me to further this mission.
