What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
My understanding: I will serve in an advisory role to the District leaders, meet with them regularly with a clear agenda, utilize my International Director, provide input and feedback to the District leaders as requested, and work closely with my Region Advisor peers. My fifteen years of leadership in the US Army and eight years of Toastmasters leadership equips me to serve in this role. I've successfully collaborated with leaders from around the world and ensure each leader had a voice!
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
My experience with coaching individuals would be from my District Director year, 2020-2021. The District leader team needed a strong leader who could coach them to their personal success. Having the ability to influence a large group of leaders is a huge undertaking but I was up for the challenge. I ensured each leader knew that I cared about them and their success. My motto was "Pursuing Excellence" and I displayed this daily through my actions, which was emulated.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am interested in serving as a Region Advisor because my experience, knowledge, and willingness to collaborate with District leaders will best serve the Toastmasters organization as a whole. My twenty-one years of military service along with nine years of Toastmasters service allows me to teach, coach, and mentor District leaders to reaching excellence. My excellent listening and mentoring skills ensure leaders are heard and feel empowered.
