What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
Achieving success requires listening, inspiring, and motivating others. I am aware that there are many ways to get there and there isn't just one that's ideal. In order to achieve the best results, the function of a Region Advisor involves bringing people together, facilitating idea exchange, and developing inclusive planning. From the experience gained through District leadership and my career, I can now help guide others on their own journey.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
Coaching sessions with my team took place over one-on-one calls. I learned about their objectives, both in and out of Toastmasters, so that I could suggest strategies for them to fulfill those objectives. One member wanted more of a leadership role, so I helped him find the right opportunity. Zoom was a new tool and required extra training and coaching for the District to adapt. I assembled a team, coached them on the essentials -instilling them with confidence for contests/meetings.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I've always thought of a Region Advisor as a coach or mentor. Someone who can motivate people to go above and beyond and change the lives of others. After a certain point in your career, it becomes about giving back and enjoying seeing others succeed. I possess the abilities necessary to positively impact others' lives on a professional and personal level.
