What key factors are most important as a Region Advisor to help the District achieve success:
Flexibility, patience, and support are the most important key factors. The District leaders are dealing with many other priorities and may not consider the Region Advisor as a resource or when working on plans and events. I continue to gently remind them I am there to support them, of upcoming deadlines or tasks that need to be a focus. A positive, forward-looking attitude is also necessary. How you show up for the leaders can influence their attitudes and behaviors. Coming in with a can-do and optimistic attitude can make a world of difference when the District leaders are in a moment of panic. They just need reassurance and someone to talk through it with.
What key strengths do you bring to the District leaders?
I am a good listener and an experienced problem-solving coach. I help district leaders work through each challenge as it arises and help them build their skills and confidence to face any challenge they encounter, there is always a way or other things to try.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am enjoying this role, learning a lot about myself and how to manage expectations. The August 2021 District Leader Training was a tremendous experience and I learned quite a bit from my fellow Region Advisors. I would like to continue and help support other Region Advisors so they can quickly get into their role of supporting the District leaders.
