What is your understanding of the Region Advisor role and how does your experience relate to the role?
The Region Advisor is an advisor to the District leadership teams in their region. They help the Districts come together to learn from each other. They are a sounding board for the District leadership team to offer advice, resolve conflict, and share information with the Districts to ensure they know of any changes communicated from the Board of Directors.
A Region Advisor also conducts training for the District leadership teams and visits Districts to offer support and get a visual of how the District operates.
My experience as a District Director gave me insight into what it takes to lead Districts and work with others. My DedicatedtoMembers.com project is an example of how I like to share information across clubs and Districts.
What is your experience with coaching individuals and/or teams?
I have had direct reports in my professional roles as well as led Toastmasters in District leadership and other District roles. I have several mentees that I mentor on a regular basis. I have been and am currently the go-to person in both Toastmasters and my professional career.
Why are you interested in serving as Region Advisor?
I am passionate about Toastmasters and am always looking for ways to ensure our members are getting the most out of Toastmasters by improving our clubs and sharing information with others. I really enjoyed my role in the District 43 leadership team, working with other Districts and members across the District. I was able to stretch my skills and learn new skills and look forward to this new stretch goal.
